Single-family house UlsteinThe house is located in Ulstein (a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway) and is blessed with a 250 degree ocean view. Universal design is combined with high energy ambitions and the house will produce its own energy. Solar collectors are integrated in window frames in the south-facing facade, contributing to both domestic hot water preparation and space heating. A wooden stove is used for auxiliary heating. Solar cells are producing electricity.
Ilseng PrisonA new solar heating system is installed at Hedmark prison, Ilseng Deparment, in Hamar. 270 square metres of solar collectors integrated in the south-facing roof of the barracks will contribute to the supply of domestic hot water. The total heat store volume is 8 400 litres.
Passive house Rudshagen, OsloRudshagen is located 15 km outside the centre of Oslo. This is a site for new single-family homes built according to the passive house standard. One unit is a solar house, and has parts of the south facing facade covered with solar collectors. Net collector area stands at 19.5 m2. Installation of the solar system was well adapted to the building procedures. Mounting of the collector field was accomplished in 4 hours with two active installers.
Multi-family houses in LierThe project contains four two-story buildings, with 30 flats in total. The environmental ambitions were high, both in terms of energy use, material use and universal design. Solar energy is used for space heating and hot water preparation. Space heating is distributed with a water-based under-floor heating system. It was crucial for the project that the solar collectors could be integrated into the building. The solution from Aventa was selected because the solar collectors replaced alternative roof covering and became a part of the architecture.
Klosterenga, OsloKlosterenga Ecological Housing is an urban revitalisation project close to the city centre of Oslo. The 35 apartments were built with a focus on energy saving. The general ecological approach includes, among others, focus on building materials from an ecological point of view, indoor climate and of course, energy saving design and installations and use of both passive and active solar energy.
Row-houses at MortensrudBuilding cooperative OBOS has built 34 new row houses in Oslo with passive house standard. AventaSolar solar collectors are integrated in south-facing roofs, providing as much as 62% of the total energy need for heating (hot water and space heating). Stenbraatlia is a model project in Sintef’s (the largest independent research organization in Scandinavia) ongoing research on passive and low-energy housing.
Bjoernveien 119, OsloAt Bjoernveien 119 (8 flats) in Oslo, the use of solar energy has been an important aspect of the design. 100 square meters of solar collectors have been incorporated into the southern facade. In this project, the produced energy will be stored and used to heat water that will flow into the water-based floor heating system. The dark, reflecting surfaces are attractive building elements, producing energy and acting as a sound barrier for road traffic.
Single-family house StavernThe building has a unique location with views over Skagerak and the Oslofjord. Solar collectors are integrated in window frames in the south-facing facade, contributing to both domestic hot water preparation and space heating. The Norwegian window producer NorDan and Aventa have developed a solution for integrating solar collectors into window constructions. The new system makes it possible to mount energy-producing solar collectors into window frames behind a special type of glass. The solar collector is then connected by pipes to a water heater from OSO Hotwater, which has been custom designed for this particular concept.
